Bay

The bay at San Sebastián, Spain

• A bay is a large body of water connected to an ocean or sea.

•  Formed by;

                               -An inlet of land

                               -Via glacial

                               -River erosion

•  Result of  the surrounding land blocking some waves and often reducing winds.

• It exist as an inlet in a lake or pond. 

• A large bay called as;

                             -Gulf

                             -Sea

                            -Sound

                            -Bight.

•  A cove is a circular oroval coastal inlet with a narrow entrance; some coves may be referred to as bays.

The Bay of Bengal in South Asia

• Bays are safe place for fishing.

•  Any bay contain;

                         - fish

                         -sea creatures

                         -adjacent to other bays

                                   (James Bay is adjacent to Hudson Bay) 

• Large bays are;

                       -The Bay of Bengal

                       -The Hudson Bay

                       -Gulf of Guinea

                       -Persian Gulf

                       -Gulf of Alaska

                       -Gulf of Mexico

• The largest bays can create  continental drift.

Gulf 

• It is sea or ocean that reaches to land.

• Gulf created from deposites and erosion.

• Gulf has 2 main characteristics;

                                                1.part of sea /ocean

                                                2.reaches into land 

• Most famous gulf;

                     1.Gulf of Mexico= Largest gulf.

                                                          Water from Atlantic ocean  &Caribben sea.

                     2.Persian Gulf=  Iran,Kuwait,United Arab Emirates, Qutar

Examples;

-Gulf of Mexico

-Lousiana

-Taxas coast

-Persian Gulf

-Saginaw Bay in Michigan
